We Have Only One Truly Great Desire

Dear friends,

We have only one truly great desire, even though we usually think otherwise. We think we will feel complete if only we find the right partner first, or if we can change the wrong one, if we have a child, or if that child takes less of our energy, if we find the right job, or don't have to work so much anymore, if we are more successful, or find more peace, have more energy and get more recognition .... then, then - when circumstances are as they should be - then that door will open, then we will step into that space where we feel complete, where everything is right, where we feel fulfilment every day and are only our radiant selves.

All these desires come down to one and the same great desire: we want to experience oneness.

The experience of oneness, that space where we feel complete and are our radiant selves, cannot be found in circumstances and not in the future. It is the great mistake of our human conditioning to think so. We are looking in exactly the wrong direction. We look outside, thinking that something has to change outside ourselves, but it is precisely by thinking that that we leave ourselves, that we distance ourselves from that space in which we have always been complete. That space is not outside us. When we stop leaving ourselves in those thoughts, in drifting away into fantasies of what doesn't exist here and now, then we experience what it is to be truly 'home'. Then we experience that what we really are is nothing but that space of oneness. When we want nothing but what is, then we become free, then we become transparent, then the light of our essence can shine through us.

We become available for life to dance through us. The beauty is that those circumstances follow, often more ingeniously than we imagined with those thoughts. Life itself is so many times more creative than our thoughts.

For me, becoming free in this way is the invitation of life, the most beautiful path we can take.

In love,
Zoe
