Moved by movement

Dear friends,

Here in Andalusia, my morning meditation is typically a long walk in the mountains before breakfast, coming back home through our backyard that is a mountain slope in itself. It keeps on moving me that it is so beautiful here, and that I have the privilege to spend time in this magnificent place on our generous Earth. It’s a spiritual experience in its own right.

A few days ago, it was raining for once. So, I did my morning practice inside. I put some music and while listening through my headphones, I moved my body as it came naturally. It’s what I usually do in the morning, before silent meditation, when I am not in a walking paradise. Shortly after I started, I felt how I wasn’t moving my body, but movement was happening through me. Movement was playing with the music and using my body as an instrument. I was just invited to allow the movement to happen. I realised again how movement - and music -  helps us to be in the present moment, to forget about all we don’t need to think of anyway, and just be. So, I wrote a text and made a video about it.

Here is a playlist I often use for morning dancing meditation. Feel free to use it. When I have the time, I do half an hour of meditative moving with music, and half an hour of seated silent meditation. Ideally, I don’t speak or eat before, to take some of the silence and mystery of the night into my practice. I love it. Maybe you want to join the movement?

Much love,

Zoë
