Reciprocal
Reciprocal
The wind that winds around us,
plays with trees,
and makes sound
along the walls of the house.
The birds that, day and night,
age after age,
sing to say they are here.
I listen —
they truly are always here.
“What you seek is seeking you,”
said the Persian poet.
Wind makes itself felt.
Flowers offer colour and fragrance.
Birds invite us to listen.
Trees ripen fruit for us.
Mountains protect.
Rain and sun
each bring their own blessings.
And we act
as if it all happens outside of us.
We speak about it.
We pick, cut,
and eat from it.
But when do we speak to it?
When was the last time
you said something to a flower?
To the bumblebee
who carefully sipped nectar
from every little cup?
When did you last open your mouth
so the wind could blow inside?
When did you last take part
in the conversations
unfolding all around —
and offer deep gratitude?
Dear all,
The research towards understanding how language affects the way we experience reality goes hand in hand with connecting to the nature that we are - just like the plants, the bees and the wind. Our next meeting may take a more philosophical turn - and it will certainly be experiential. Nature also tells me to take more time to only breathe. So, I have decided to continue the research in Dutch only for now. Those interested can still register for our next online meeting on Wednesday 7 May at 19h30. Welcome to this life-changing journey!
