To Be Life Itself

Sometimes we are happy about something that we expect to happen in the future - a meeting, a meal, a holiday, even if it’s a pure fantasy - the life I would have if I won the lottery, the sensation I would have if I were kissed by [fill in the blanks]. It’s interesting that we are happy about the expectation (purely in our mind), and never about what is (maybe) going to happen. That’s technically impossible. We can only have an experience in this present moment.

As humans we refuse to realise that.

So, we are constantly expecting, or, in the opposite direction: regretting. Funny enough, we regret the good things - that they aren’t there anymore - and the bad things - that they happened to us. Even if they are only happening, over and over again, in our minds.

So, how to become free of this human conditioning, and how to fully experience this present moment? That’s what my work is about. Starting from a deep longing to understand what it really means to live, refusing to identify with a character called Zoe in a matrix called modern society, but to be life itself, experienced through this body.

I often hear that I live and even embody what I talk about, and I believe this is the only possible way to do this work: entirely. Starting with my own practice, my own self-inquiry and self-responsibility.

Here are the different ways my work comes to expression. Maybe there is one that inspires you. I’ve added some excerpts of testimonials. Thank you to those who wrote them!*

1. Retreats ⎪ at Amiglia and elsewhere

“Zoe is an exceptional facilitator - intuitive, receptive, and able to see what each person needs.”

“A wonder of life itself. With her soft guidance and interpretation, she sparkles her way through the day and lets people feel and experience the dimension that is always there, and how you can also be there.”

2. Private sessions ⎪ at Amiglia or wherever I am when I am travelling

“What a journey! I don’t know what happened but I feel a huge burden is taken away from me.”

“Indescribable healing.”

3. Exploring and creating ⎪ in many places

I like to find inspiration myself during my travels and through the experiences of other people. At this point I am preparing a documentary about being present. The working title is ‘Before we name it’. I would like to combine insights from Moving Language with interviews with musicians, dancers, scientists… It’s a long-term project!

Thank you for reading this letter.

Much love,
Zoë
